Two stories in the American League for 2011 are the team with the best record and the AL Wild Card chase. Current projections have the Stampede sitting at the High Roller’s table over the Giants, but it would not surprise me if River Run still managed to have the league’s best record. The AL Wild Card race figures to be a great 3 way battle between Amherst, Bradenton, and Frisco. While division races in the AL East and Central don’t figure to be close the winner in the AL West could easily be Danville or Baltimore. You never know what might happen in the playoffs, but it looks like Giants and Stampede will battle for the pennant.

Over in the National League Fog City returns to form and will battle Millersville for best overall record. Those two teams will probably meet for the NLCS.  Should be a lot of teams in contention for the NL Wild Card and with a few key moves you might be able to add Hellam and Carolina to the mix as well. Kansas City should squeak by in the NL Central past Richmond and Louisville, while the other two divisions should be decided early into the last month of the regular season.

On paper it looks like it would be Mile High City against Fog City in the World Series, but you can never say never with teams like River Run and Millersville. Or we could have a magical season for a Cinderella team like Danville or Kansas City. If either of those teams make it to the big dance I'd have to root for whoever they might play unless Frisco somehow gets there too of course.
